Bartiromo joined Fox Business Network in January 2014 as Global Markets Editor. She anchored the weekday morning program Mornings with Maria on Fox Business and the Sunday program Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News, and in 2017 added the weekly primetime program Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street Week. In November 2015 and January 2016, she and co-anchor Neil Cavuto moderated Fox Business's Republican presidential primary debates, each drawing some of the largest audiences in the network's history at the time.
Over twenty years at CNBC, Bartiromo became one of the network's most recognizable anchors. In 1995 she was the first journalist to deliver daily live reports from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, a format that helped define market-hours financial television. She helped launch the morning program Squawk Box, anchored Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo, and served as anchor and managing editor of On the Money with Maria Bartiromo, formerly The Wall Street Journal Report. Her run there also included Market Wrap, Business Center, and the interview program The Business of Innovation. Her reporting on the 2008 financial crisis earned an Emmy for breaking news coverage, with a second Emmy following in 2009 for a documentary on Google, and a Gracie Award for a documentary on Alan Greenspan.
Bartiromo began her career as a producer, writer, and assignment editor with CNN Business News in New York, working on the network's business programming before moving to a fast-growing cable upstart focused entirely on markets.

Bartiromo serves on the Board of Trustees of New York University, her alma mater, where she was previously an adjunct professor at the Stern School of Business. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York, and has held board roles with the National Italian American Foundation and the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York. In 2025, she was appointed by President Trump to the board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
